Riccardo Fratton

In charge of all technical and managerial responsibilities at San Polo is Riccardo Fratton – a talented young man who completed his studies in 2006 and graduated with honors from the Department of Oenology at the University of Verona, under the guidance of the late Prof. Roberto Ferrarini.

After graduation, Riccardo left Italy to broaden his international experience, working 2 years for Wild Horse Winery & Vineyards, in California, having the opportunity to get to know the “new world” wine production.

Returning to Italy in 2009, Riccardo worked for 6 years in the Valpolicella region for the Bertani family, having the opportunity to refine his knowledge in an area with ancient wine roots, earning precious expertise in traditional winemaking techniques used in the Amarone production.

In 2015 Riccardo joined San Polo in Montalcino, an area that, in terms of tradition and wine-growing vocation, has few equals in the world. Here, he has been asked to guide, with his professional approach, the entire company, working closely with the property to implement more precise vineyard management, as well as paying meticulous attention in every aspect of wine production process in the winery.

The faith that the Allegrini family has vested in Riccardo exemplifies their commitment to developing the entrepreneurial spirit of the younger generation.
