Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Sweet aromas of pears, melon, and tropical fruits are accented with
a pleasant floral note. The wine is light-to-medium bodied, and
round in texture. A versatile pairing to Mediterranean and Italian
cuisines, spicy Asian and Latin dishes, and casual salads, sea foods,
and cheeses.
Winemaker Notes
Recently rediscovered as an alternative to big, bold California
Chardonnay or aromatic and acidic California Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot
Grigio has become one of California’s most successful white varietals.
Great as a wine for sipping before a meal or with lighter cuisines, this
wine tends to be more fruit forward and full bodied than its Italian
counterpart. The grapes for this wine were sourced from cooler
vineyards west of the Lodi Appellation and coastal vineyards in Santa
Barbara County. The Pinot Grigio was cold fermented at 50 degrees
in stainless steel to preserve the fresh, delicate characters of the fruit.
