Joel Gott EOLA-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2015
Our 2015 Eola Springs Pinot Noir has aromas of black raspberries, dark chocolate and blackberry jam with notes of cassis and sandalwood. On the palate, the wine opens with lush, dark fruit flavors followed by a well-structured mid-palate and long, concentration with spice on the finish.
Fruit for this wine was sourced from the Eola Springs Vineyard located within the Eola-Amity Hills AVA where there is a cool climate, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The vineyards are planted on well-drained volcanic soil types and experience warm days with diurnal winds in the early evening that come from the coast through the nearby Van Duzer Corridor. The cool evening winds help to dry the fruit and vines quickly following periods of rain, allowing for slow and even ripening of the fruit and retaining the fruits acidity.
