Newman's Own Common Good Red Blend 2014
Our Common Good red blend tastes uncommonly good, even if we say so ourselves. It’s bursting with robust berry aromas that reveal complex layers of black fruit flavors accented by bright, juicy acidity. Smooth and full on the palate, it has a long, pleasant finish.
We wanted to create a smooth, easy-going red blend that captured the very best of California, so we ventured to some of the most sought-after grape growing regions in the state, including esteemed appellations in the Delta/Lodi region, the Central Coast, the North Coast, and Amador County in the Sierra Foothills. Each region imparts its own unique characteristics and flavors on the grapes, adding layers of intrigue to the final blend.
Our winemakers love a three-part harmony, and with this in mind, they’ve brought together three classic California varietals to craft our Common Good red blend. Each grape lends its own voice to the combination: Merlot offers juicy, fruit-forward flavors and a smooth texture; Zinfandel brings rich, robust taste and zesty spice; and Cabernet Sauvignon adds complexity and structure. Once blended, the wine is enhanced with French Oak for additional body and mellow vanilla tones.
Varietal Composition: 68% Merlot, 18% Zinfandel, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Syrah

Complex and rich and smooth. Dinnertime favorite at our place.
